Cisnero’s experience is very common not just in Mexico, but in many countries around the world. A lot of people to this day still believe education is the most important thing when it comes to finding a long-term partner. It made me understand my situation because I grew up differently than Cisnero. I grew up where education wasn’t really that important it was more so “fast money” and “education isn’t end all be all.” It makes sense to me to a point but it depends what you mean by education and everybody defines it differently. Education by my definition does not just mean school, it means research, reading, writing, understanding and much more. So everybody is educated differently, it can also be hard to determine who is more educated and who is less educated just based on someone’s experiences. Which happens too often nowadays.

Malcolm X text I can relate to because I like to read and learn new things by myself because when I feel “forced” to learn something I am not interested in my comprehension decreases because it does not amuse me. It is why High School was such a struggle for me and I think I have learned more about everything ever since being out of high school. If you want to learn something remember nothing is stopping you, we have access to the internet, a place with unlimited knowledge and possibilities so we definitely have it much easier than our ancestors did. I suggest people take advantage of it and consistently feed themselves knowledge to increase their literacy and all other aspects of life.
